The recent article, "Is It Still The Economy, Stupid?" in Rantt started inspired a Twitter thread:

At the most basic level, ethical understanding is at the heart of all good decisions. Even when choosing between the "best, bad decision"—the ability to evaluate between "better" and "worse" paths—ethical understanding provides the best compass. Why and Because - The Art and Science of Moral and Ethical Understanding provides the reader with the understanding of how to derive ethical truth in any circumstance.
In order for institutions to have authority, they require the public's trust. In order for people to accept changes to essential institutions, they need to trust those in power.
The only way to reestablish trust once lost is to rebuilt it at the most basic, person-to-person level. Grassroots networks of trust need to scale to be politically effective. The mission of the EthoLiberal society is to provide grassroot networks of educated people who understands ethics, are inspired to make the world a better place, and are civically engaged to do the right thing.
I don't believe their is a short cut to reaching that goal. That said, there has never been a time in history when ideas can spread quicker.

We need to open as many EthoLiberal Society chapters as quick as possible to provide ethical understanding, inspiration, and civic engagement to people who desperately need and want it. Our democracy needs a large breath of fresh air. Many small forces create a current that can move large ships. Let's be the current that moves our large institutions in a positive direction.
